Does this work if our school already uses a student information system?

Yes. Dismissal imports your roster from common SIS exports (CSV, Infinite Campus, PowerSchool) and re-syncs on a schedule. Family relationships and approved adults are preserved.

What happens if the internet drops during pickup?

The staff device runs offline on the last synced roster. Pickup keeps moving. Releases are queued and reconcile automatically when the network comes back.

How accurate is the plate read?

Above 99% on registered vehicles in good light. Unregistered plates, obscured plates, and walk-up pickups appear as exception cards staff can resolve with one tap.

Who can pick up my child?

Anyone you authorize. Parents and guardians manage their own approved-adult list in the family portal; the school can override or revoke access. Every release is logged with the confirmed adult.

Do you keep camera footage?

No — we don't record video or store faces. The camera reads the plate, and that plate image is deleted at the next local day boundary, at most a day after capture. We keep the recognized plate string, the matched family, and the time-stamped release record for one year, then automatically delete it.

Is Dismissal FERPA-compliant?

Yes. Student records are treated as education records under FERPA, with district-controlled retention. See the trust page for details and security posture.

What does pricing look like?

We're still finalising the commercial model and aren't publishing rates yet. Right now we're recruiting a small cohort of pilot schools (five total) to shape the product with real-world feedback. See the pilot page if you'd like one of those spots.

Can we pilot before signing?

Yes — that's the only way to work with us right now. A pilot is one campus for one semester. See the pilot page for what's in scope and what we ask from you.
